Adventures!

On Thursday night, my room mate Elea, me, and the "often-imitated-never-duplicated-Jonathan-Gordon", set out on an ADVENTURE...and ohh what a time we had.

First stop: The Black Sheep, a good ol' English pub in which we enticed Jonny boy into drinking our surprise concoction (which happened to be something known as "Liquid Cocaine") This brave individual swigged it back, even clamouring for more!

(Side note: To get to this particular pub, we had to creep down a sketchy Toronto back-alley at 11:30pm, which all added to the adventure)

Second stop: Mcdonalds, purely because it was Thursday, and what does Thursday at Mcdonalds mean??
TWO CHEESEBURGER MCDEAL!
An offer too good to resist, especially when we ended up getting the burgers for free. The guy in the line behind us was very hungry and agitated, and struck a deal with us: if we let him go in front of us in the line, he would buy us cheeseburgers.
"Um...OK!"

Here is a shout out to Danny our new Mcdonalds buddy.

Third Stop: ASIAN KARAOKE!!! (Good things always comes in threes...or perhaps thrices April??)
We had noticed it as we drove past before, and thought it would be a laugh to check it out..

We parked the car and entered down some stairs where we could hear the Asian beats blasting. It sounded like quite the party! However, when we reached the bottom of the stairs, we thought we must have come to the wrong place! It seemed as though we were in some sort of tanning salon, with a front desk and lots of small individual rooms.

I apoligized and said that we were looking for the Karaoke, and the Korean guy behind the desk smiled and said "Welcome welcome!" (He also made some sort of bowing gesture to us)
We were then led into a small room with 2 TV screens, a microphone and some pink sparkly tambourines. He informed us that the idea was to rent a room and do Karaoke..alone or with friends, singing from the words (all chinese) on the screen.
WHO KNEW THESE PLACES EXISTED?

By now we were finding the whole thing very amusing, and our hysteria intensified when the guy shut and locked the door and proceeded to perform a Korean rap to us!!
After making some hasty excuses and promises to return for a full concert from this Asian pop sensation, we made a quick getaway.

What a night to remember. Here's to spontaneous adventures!
(For an alternative commentary of the night, check out Elea's blog).

Sorry to rush you the other night. My friend, Mister S, has me on his payroll. Under the pretense of helping children in Kenya, he collects money for me to buy and post him cheeseburgers (we mass order on thursdays ~ those aren't ALL mine), and I had to get his shipment in the local mailboxes by 1100 pm. He gets so cranky without his morning burgers, as you may know.

Thanks again for being such a team player!

Cheers,
Danny-O

*Did you mean to leave me your number on baco-double-cheese wrapper? Will we really meet again next Thurs.?

HANNAH!!! You're hilarious! Sounds like a fun night! I have a friend teaching in Korea and apparently these kareoke places are HUGE out there. They're called PC Bangs or something like that (don't know why!!) Anyway, I'll let you know when I'll be in the Toronto area... it'd be great to see you :)
